Amazon India announced on Monday that they will host the second edition of ‘Amazon Smbhav’ through April 15to 18, 2021.

A statement was made that it will take place virtually. It will bring together industry leaders and throw light on various ways to create an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ by unlocking different opportunities for different entrepreneurs and business leaders and collaborating with them.

“Amazon Smbhav will be a four-day virtual summit hosted around the theme of ‘Unlocking Infinite Possibilities for India’ across sectors like manufacturing, retail, logistics, IT/ITeS, content creators, start-ups, brands and entrepreneurs across India. Over 30,000 participants are expected to participate at Amazon Smbhav, learning about best practices and industry trends from over 70 speakers," the statement read.

‘SMbhav’ is Amazon’s lead ship event which is held annually. It is a major summit through which they broadcast how Amazon and its partners use digital technologies to innovate for Indian customers, entrepreneurs and small businesses.

At the last SMbhav summit in 2020 in New Delhi, the founder and CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos took a pledge to invest an additional amount of $1 billion to digitize 10 million MSMEs (micro small and medium enterprises), give rise to $10 billion through exports from India and increase employment by creating an additional 1 million jobs in India by 2025.

“As we continue to work with a gamut of Indian businesses and entrepreneurs, we are committed to bringing to them tools, technology and innovation that empower the Indian economy, help create jobs at scale and unleash entrepreneurial agility in companies of all kinds and sizes. SMbhav 2021 will therefore be a unique platform offering opportunities to unlock these possibilities towards an Atmanirbhar Bharat", said Manish Tiwary, VP, Amazon India.
